July 8, 2006: IPFDC TO BE A SPONSOR OF NATIVE ARTS SHOWAlbuquerque, NM The Indian Pueblos Federal Development Corporation (IPFDC) has donated $10,000 to the organizers of the Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Arts & Crafts Show to support Native American artisans. The Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Arts & Crafts Show is the largest Native American created and organized outdoor public art exhibition in the country. This years show will be Saturday and Sunday, July 15th and 16th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at ENIPC, Inc.s Arts & Visitors Center near Ohkay Owingeh (formerly San Juan Pueblo). The Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Council has held the event every July since its inception in 1972. The council is a collaborative effort of the Pueblos of Ohkay Owingeh, Nambe, Picuris, Pojoaque, San Ildefonso, Santa Clara, Taos and Tesuque, and the Arts & Crafts Show is its most prominent economic development effort. We at IPFDC are proud to show our support for the show. It is not only a valuable opportunity for Native artists to sell their work, it is also an event that brings together people from many backgrounds to celebrate and learn about Native culture, said Everett Chavez, Chairman of IPFDC. IPFDC is a Native American owned and operated enterprise that develops and manages the Albuquerque Indian School property. The 19 New Mexico Pueblos are shareholders in IPFDC. |
